The fire protection / life safety services provided by EMAI include:

Concept Planning & Project Design Support.

Design & Construction Consultation.

Fire Protection / Life Safety Systems Design and/or Evaluation.

Construction Observation & Evaluation - similar to oversight provided by governmental fire prevention or fire marshal offices but with the added benefit of design consultation and resolutionof concerns and/or issues.

Code Consultation related to various fire and building codes as well as applicable industry standards and practices.

Fire Incident Investigation - also includes monitoring other agency investigations for specific intersted parties and providing consultation to those parties.

Forensic support for fire incident investigations adn related litigation.

Testing of fire protection / life safety systems.  Specializing in fire hydrant fire flow testing and fire pump / fire standpipe system delivery testing.

Volunteer firefighter, Ballston VFD (Arlington County, Virginia - 42 years); former municipal fire protection engineer (City of Alexandria, Va.); owner and principal engineer of Everard Fire Protection Engineering Ltd. (23 years) and Mid Atlantic Testing (18 years); part time instruction at University of Maryland Fire Protection Engineering program (1972) and Northern Virginia Community College Fire Science program (1975- 1977); past member of ASTM; and past member of Board of Directors of NICET.

Current member of NFPA and serving on the Emergency Power Supply committee; member of International Code Council (formerly member of BOCA).

Licensed professional engineer in:  Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Indiana, Louisiana, Kansas, and Wisconsin.
